Christmas is that time during which we rejoice at the birth of the Savior. Sadly all too often, we spend abundant time shopping for gifts but precious little time considering the 'riches of glory' His birth was meant to bring us. No matter how difficult our earthly life, no matter how heavy our own personal cross may be, we have the unimpeachable promise of eternal hope, knowing that because He is in us, we will live forever with Him in a glorious, heavenly home.
Every sacrifice will be amply rewarded. Each time we give of ourselves, we have the firm hope of knowing that Jesus sees it all and will remember it in full when we go to our reward and discover firsthand those 'riches in glory.' The tears we shed for his lost children; the times our hands were scraped and cut in our service to others for Him; the times we gave up our own comforts, pleasures or treasures or went without so as to bring another to Christ. He will repay with riches in glory that will make terrestrial treasures pale and seem as worthless as trinkets.
This Christmas, find hope in Christ! And bring that same hope to all you meet, so that as you "lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven" (Matthew 6:20), others too can come to know Him and His love and find that same Christmas message of hope.
