BEAUMONT: Teen Girl Scout finishes self esteem seminar for foster girls

16-year-old Anne Kathryn Trevino's mission to help as many girls as possible build their self esteem through her "Being Your Best Selfie" seminar ended today at Buckner Children and Family Services Center in Beaumont.

Trevino, who will be a junior at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School this upcoming school year, spent many months planning the 3-day seminar that teaches teen girls self-esteem, hygiene and etiquette. Trevino says that the project was part for her Girl Scout Gold Award.

"I had to choose a topic (at Girl Scouts for the Eagle Scout Award)." Trevino said. "I chose self esteem." She said that after submitting a series of applications, and discussions with advisers, she was able to start planning the seminar with her family at Buckner Children and Family Services Center in Beaumont.
