In honor of National Foster Care Month, we're asking the Buckner family to pray for children in the foster care system and parents who are caring for them. 

Please pray:

• For the children. When children are removed from their homes, they leave everything that's familiar behind. They enter new homes and new schools where they have to make new friends. Pray they feel God's presence in their lives. Pray for strength. And pray for healing. Specifically, Buckner has several children who will return to their biological families after school ends. Pray that transition goes smoothly. 
• For the families. Becoming a foster family is a calling from God. Prayer supports all that these families do. Pray God gives these families strength, wisdom and patience as they care for children.
• For new families. Many new families are responding to God's call to become foster families. Praise God for them. Pray for them as they go through training and licensing. Pray for those who sense God's call to become foster parents but have yet to respond.  
• Pray for Buckner staff members. May God grant them the words to share and the guidance to give as they recruit new families and counsel current foster families.
