Friday photo: Easter celebration

Last week, 507 people attended an Easter celebration on the proposed site of the new Buckner Family Hope Center at Bachman Lake in Dallas. Around the property, 227 volunteers worked stations that promoted family fun from carnival games, potato sack races and three-legged races to face painting, decorating Easter eggs and a massive Easter egg hunt. Lunch and snacks were also provided and worship music played throughout the day.

The Family Hope Center has already been offering a Jobs for Life class and in the month of April, they will also begin offering parenting, fatherhood and ESL classes. At the Easter celebration, 49 new families signed up to begin one of those classes and 68 families desired to learn more about Bible studies.

"We are so excited to be working in the Bachman Lake area," said Ricardo Brambila, director of the Family Hope Center at Bachman Lake. "There is a real need to reach out to families here who may feel as though they are forgotten. We are able to walk alongside them, encourage them to achieve business endeavors they felt were impossible and help empower them to self-sufficiency."
