Shoes from South Main Baptist shoe drive being delivered to flood victims

The 10,000 shoes collected by South Main Baptist Church in Houston as part of their annual Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® shoe drive are being delivered to Houston shelters for Harvey flood victims.

Typically, shoes collected from the shoe drive are brought back to Buckner International's headquarters in Dallas to be distributed both domestically and internationally in area of highest need. This time, said Rachel Wallis, director of Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls, it was very clear the shoes needed to stay in Houston, "serving the same communities that have given to others in need so generously in the past."
