"But God demonstrates his own love toward us that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." – Romans 5:8

Good Friday for me has always been a somber day as I reflect on how Jesus died for my sins. But I am also overwhelmed with gratitude that my Savior loved me so much he chose to take the punishment I deserved. So today, I am thankful for the sacrifice Jesus made for me, for you and for everyone. A sacrifice made in love.

Luckily, the story does not end on Good Friday. Because on the third day, Easter Sunday, Jesus defeated death and rose from the grave. He is alive today! Easter is not the celebration of death, but of life!

Life and death may be hard concepts for a child to understand, but it's important for them to understand the importance of the holiday. If you're looking for age-appropriate ways to share the Easter message with your child, here are four ways to share the Easter story with the children in your life

May you have a beautiful Easter weekend as we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
