The 3rd Annual Buckner Golf Classic will help provide for abused and neglected children in our community. Please help make a difference in a child’s life. Buckner is devoted to protecting children, promoting independence and building strong families, and we do that right here in Midland! Among the services we provide are:
Hearthstone Residential Group Care
The Buckner residential group care program provides consistent supervision, structure and nurturing of boys and girls, ages birth to 17. It is designed to provide a safe, home-like environment for children who, due to a variety of factors, are unable to remain in their family’s home. They receive educational and social support as well as counseling and training on independent-living skills. Children in this program are supervised by trained, live-in childcare specialists in a group-home setting.
Foster Care
Foster care is not a lifetime commitment to a child; rather, it is a commitment to be meaningful in a child’s lifetime. Foster care provides family care for children and teenagers who may have suffered abuse and neglect. They may also come from families where the parents suffer from serious health and financial difficulties. Buckner foster parents are emotionally and financially secure individuals who adhere to Christian principles and possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
Buckner Family Place
Family Place is a multi-unit transitional housing program in Midland that provides safe, affordable housing to single parents and their children while the parents are enrolled in an educational or vocational program. Family Place helps hurting families have access to the time, safety and resources they need to heal and gain independence from welfare, domestic violence and child abuse.
