In order to propel a meaningful impact in Ethiopia, Bright Hope Ministries and Buckner merged to better meet the needs of children and families.
Buckner services and country support include:
• Foster Care -- The children’s foster care program is located in three areas, including Yeka, Gulele and Addis Ketema, all suburbs of the capital, Addis Ababa. Currently there are 461 children in the program living in more than 200 foster homes. You can provide change in Ethiopia in 2008:
• Buckner/Bright Hope will work with the Ethiopian government to meet the needs of at-risk children and families through the establishment of 20 Community Development Centers during the next five to seven years. These centers will provide basic education, hygiene and health care to the surrounding communities and allow us to share the gospel by demonstrating the love of Christ. The first of such is located in Bantu (approximately 45 miles from the capital) and is currently under construction. The total cost of the Bantu project is about $360,000. The next two locations have been selected near Awasa, Ethiopia.
