Our Mission
Buckner Foundation, based in Dallas, Texas, intentionally cultivates and manages relationships with current and prospective donors to secure and manage gifts that will support the restorative, healing and life enhancement ministries of Buckner International; works creatively and aggressively to tell the story of Buckner in order to achieve greater awareness of the organization's mission; and projects a positive image of Buckner among our various constituencies.
Philanthropic Contributions and Funding
Buckner was founded in 1879 by Dr. R. C. Buckner to care for widows and orphans. 'Father' Buckner was a progressive, insightful and wise man. Not only was he concerned about caring for the widows and children in his day, he wanted to ensure children and families in crisis could be cared for, for many generations. Father Buckner invested in the future of Buckner by purchasing land in East Dallas, where the original children's home was located. As East Dallas grew and Buckner sold parcels of land, those dollars were put into an endowment fund and invested for growth. The income produced covers corporate and Foundation expenses. By doing so, 100 percent of contributions go directly to ministry programs.

Buckner became a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability in 2007.
