Buckner Summer Interns travel all over the world and dedicate a month of their summer to minister to orphan children, caregivers, in-country staff, and short-term mission trip groups.
Interns are expected to provide leadership in Bible exploration, recreational games, crafts, scripture memory, and other areas. The most important job our interns have is to share Jesus' love and build relationships with the children they visit. Throughout the course of the summer, interns have the opportunity to do a little bit of everything from leading Bible lessons to orphanage improvement projects.
Our interns' experiences have varied with each summer and with each country we serve in. Most of the ministry is held within orphanages. Intern accommodations include: Buckner housing, Christian shelters, or actual orphanages. Interns travel to and from the orphanage/ministry locations each day. Most days include early mornings and late nights. There is also time scheduled for reflection and relaxation.

For more than 20 years, Camp Buckner has been serving Christ and loving people in the Texas Hill Country, and we would like to invite you to join us. This three month summer internship program offers structured discipleship, opportunities to serve each person that passes through our gates, participation in local service and mission endeavors, and training in the fundamentals of camp ministry.
Interns will assist in camp operations such as the dining hall, housekeeping, and maintenance. All interns will also undergo training for lifeguard, archery instructor and ropes course certifications and help facilitate each activity for groups throughout the summer. Interns are expected to exemplify Christ in their interactions with each other and with each guest we serve. Camp Buckner Summer Interns will be challenged to Build Character, Pursue Christ, and Transform Lives.
Interns receive a stipend, room and board. If college credit is required, camp staff can help facilitate any special assignments, as needed. Training begins the last week in May and the intern program concludes mid-August.
