Community Programs
|
Community services and intervention programs prevent the disintegration
of families and encourage families to stay together.
Community Transformation Centers: Provide an integrated approach to the provision of
multiple services to vulnerable children and families in a community setting anchored in all
locations by case management.
Counseling: Services to at-risk youth (STAR) are offered to children ages birth to age 17 who
have a recent history of running away, juvenile delinquency, truancy or family conflict.
Child Development Centers: Licensed day care providers including educational services,
hygiene training, food, clothing, nutritional needs and supervised play.
Family and Parent Training: Abuse prevention services designed provide parent education,
school readiness and assessment services to families in multiple settings.
Mentoring: Adults connecting with vulnerable children by providing a positive influence and
strong role modeling through regular contact.
After-school Programs: Provides mentoring, social skills, character development, recreational
activities, tutoring and supervised play with the help of staff and volunteers in a safe environment.
Camp Buckner: A year-round retreat and conference center accommodating church groups, senior
adults and businesses. During June and July, Camp Buckner serves as a resource to churches and
para-church organization for the operation of their summer ministries and programs.
Adoption Heritage Camps: Post-adoption support intended to strengthen adoptive families
and provide exposure to unique cultural experiences for adopted children placed internationally
or in trans-racial or trans-cultural adoptive families.
