We believe each and every child deserves to have a family. Families are the core unit
of our society and support system for our growth. At Buckner, we provide a number
of programs designed to preserve families and provide families for abused or
abandoned children.
Foster Care: Temporary care for abused or neglected children.
Kinship Care: Temporary care for abused or neglected children with relatives or kin.
Adoption: Permanent families for children whose parents have died or whose parents' rights
have been terminated due to abuse or neglect. Buckner provides domestic and international
adoption services, as well as maternity services for domestic infant adoption programs.
Residential Care: A children's home campus or group home where basic residential care is
provided in a nurturing environment.
Transition Homes: Housing designed to strengthen individuals or families and promote
self-sufficiency. Residents are enrolled in an academic, vocational or rehabilitation program.
Family Place/Family Pathways/My Father's House: Transition programs for single parent
families designed to strengthen families and reduce barriers to self-sufficiency. Residents are
enrolled in an academic or vocational program and receive housing, child care assistance along
with supportive counseling.
Assessment Center: Short-term residential shelter which provides care for children while
conducting a full clinical assessment or physical, psychological, intellectual and behavioral health,
as well as family history. Ensures children are ultimately placed in the foster home or residential
home that meets their needs.
