Buckner founder R.C. "Father"
Buckner moved to Texas from
Tennessee when he established
the Buckner Orphans' Home in
Dallas, Texas. Now, Buckner has
returned to its beginnings through
its work with First Baptist Knoxville
to serve lower income and vulnerable
families through volunteer mentoring
and service programs. Buckner also
collaborates with Christian radio
station, WMBW in Chattanooga, Tenn.,
for its annual Shoes for Orphan Souls
shoe drive.

• The Fish Pantry - A food pantry provides low
income and homeless families with food donations.

• Handyman Ministry - Handyman Ministry is a volunteer ministry
dedicated to perform small handyman tasks
at no cost to low-income families.
• ESOL - English for Speakers of other Languages is
a program designed to teach English
to those who are interested in learning in order
to open doors of opportunity to employment and
facilitate communication.
• KIDS HOPE USA - KIDS HOPE USA is a national
mentoring program where churches train and
recruit mentors within their congregation to form
one-to-one relationships with at-risk children in
neighborhood schools. Buckner works with
KIDS HOPE USA to connect and identify interested
churches with schools in their area and to support
them through the process of training, recruiting,
screening and supervising each program.
