World Vision gives Buckner more than 17,000 pairs of shoes

DALLAS – World Vision donated more than 17,000 pairs of new shoes for Buckner to distribute to clients in domestic programs.

Distributions of the shoes started in March in the Rio Grande Valley. The donation is part of an ongoing collaboration between the two ministries to better serve people in domestic Buckner programs.

“We continue to look forward to our partnership with World Vision as they support us with aid supplies for home builds in the Valley and other aid needs that arise throughout Texas to assist in the long-term sustainability programs we operate domestically,” said Matt Asato, Buckner senior director of ministry engagement. “We’re thankful for the shoes and even better, the kids love them.”

Previously, World Vision donated 16 pallets of shingles to a home-build project in the Valley. They also supplied 26 pallets of disaster relief products in July 2014 as Buckner interceded in the unaccompanied children crisis along the U.S. border.
