Buckner International and TBM joined forces to feed 250 Bachman Lake residents affected by tornado

At least 250 Bachman Lake area residents showed up on Tuesday afternoon at Joe May Elementary to get a free, hot meal provided by nonprofits Buckner International and Texas Baptist Men.

Families lined up under blue and yellow tents. Children walked away from the serving trailer with take-out box plates full of rice and pinto beans. Some grabbed bags of chips and sports drinks.

Because many of the area’s residents are still without power after Sunday night’s severe storms and several area schools are still closed, some of the children had no access or limited options for breakfast or lunch.
