DALLAS: Woman, 68, learns to read through Oak Cliff nonprofit’s pilot adult literacy program

DALLAS - Jerutha Pratt said one day she wants to read a newspaper at the graveside of her brother.

She’s closer to doing that, as the 68-year-old Oak Cliff resident learns to read and spell.

“It’s always been ‘fake-it-until-you-make-it.’ Now, I’m making it, so I don’t have to fake it no more,” she said.
