Easter fun across Texas

With the help of volunteers, families enjoyed Easter Buckner events

Easter is a special time to celebrate the hope and joy of the resurrection of Christ. Many Buckner programs offered events and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy together.

What makes these Easter events possible are the amazing volunteers across Texas. For National Volunteer Month, we are so thankful for the volunteers who give the gift of their time and servant hearts to ensure Buckner families and children enjoy a hope-filled Easter.

“These events are critical not only to building community and social connections, but sharing the Gospel with the families we serve,” said Rebecca Hand, Buckner director of volunteer engagement. “Our volunteers make it happen, whether they are hiding thousands of eggs, painting a face or dressed up as the Easter bunny. Volunteers love like Jesus through their service to others at Buckner programs and events and give those serving the opportunity to connect more deeply with their communities and witness the power of love in action.”

Buckner families in the Beaumont, Houston and Dallas all enjoyed time together for some Easter fun.

At the Buckner Family Hope Center® at Bachman Lake, more than 55 families attended the annual Easter event hosted in collaboration Park Cities Baptist Church en Español and Northway Church. Children and parents enjoyed food, games such as bingo and a raffle, arts and crafts, an Easter egg hunt and a message shared by the Park Cities Baptist Church members.

“Celebrating Easter with our families is a great opportunity to engage our families and give them the chance to connect not only as a family, but with other families in the community,” shared Katrina Beavers-Gutierrez, director of the Family Hope Center at Bachman Lake.

In Beaumont, children and families enjoyed face painting, balloon animals and games, and a visit from the Easter bunny.

To celebrate Easter in Houston, families participated in many different activites. At the Buckner Family Hope Center® at Aldine, kids got competitive in an Easter egg hunt, played games, had face painting and enjoyed the sunshine and fellowship.
