Friday photo: Buckner Foster Care and Adoption participates in balloon release for National Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and several Buckner locations participated in activities to help bring awareness to the issue of child abuse. In Midland, Buckner Foster Care and Adoption participated in a balloon release, releasing ballons to honor victims of child abuse.

Nationally, one in 10 people has been abused as a child. Buckner wants to assure every child lives in a safe and nurturing home. You can also play a role in preventing child abuse and neglect by being aware of the signs and being an advocate for children.

It is up to each of us to report child abuse. If you see any suspicious signs, report it. If there is any doubt whatsoever, report it. TDFPS reporting hotline is 1-800-252-5400.
