Friday photo: Community blessing

Juan Chong and his family have been involved with the Buckner Family Hope Center at Houston/Aldine for a few years. Now, he is an active volunteer because he sees the positive influence the Hope Center has made not only on his seven children, but also on his community.

"The Family Hope Center represents that the community is not alone," Juan said. "There's help. If people are struggling or just going through hard times, there's always places like this to bring hope and help to anyone who is out there trying to get it. As soon as you walk in the building, you feel you're with family. You have that happiness knowing people are there to help. [My family] is on the look out for people who need help, and we refer them here. They always are helpful with whatever they can."

Visit our Volunteer Central to see all the opportunities to help families in your community.
