Kimora Lee Simmons donates to Harvey relief, distributes aid at Family Hope Center

Kimora Lee Simmons donated $25,000 to the Unmentionables Help for Harvey Effort and joined The Unmentionables team and Buckner Family Hope Center staff on Sunday to distribute intimate hygiene products to Houston-area families displaced from their homes from Hurricane Harvey.

The Unmentionables is a nonprofit organization committed to providing undergarments and other hygiene products to forcibly displaced populations around the world and have supplied 53,365 intimate health products to forcibly displaced people in five countries.

One of the greatest needs after a disaster such as Hurricane Harvey is for practical items such as clothing and hygiene products. At the distribution at the Family Hope Center, families from the community were supplied with items such as undergarments, feminine hygiene products and diapers.

“We are so appreciative of not only these greatly needed donations but of Kimora Lee Simmons’ personal involvement and response in distributing them," said Shawna Roy, director of the Family Hope Center. "So many of the families impacted by Harvey not only need the aid, they need to know someone cares about what they are going through.”
