Kiwanis Governor Recognized at White House for Work with Shoes for Orphan Souls®

Susan Hennum, governor of the TX-OK District of Kiwanis International, was recognized this week at the White House as a “Champion of Change” for her work with Shoes for Orphan Souls®.

Hennum has been involved with Shoes for Orphan Souls for more than a decade, collecting thousands of shoes to benefit children around the world. She made Shoes for Orphan Souls her “Governor’s Project” for 2011-2012, involving the entire TX-OK District in a shoe collecting effort. Together, they collected more than 5,000 pairs of shoes and $3,000 in donations.

Hennum reflected on her passion for Shoes for Orphan Souls in a post this week on the White House blog. Be sure to check it out here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/09/20/one-shoe-time.
