As I walk through the hallways of work at Buckner Parkway Place, I pass tables with unfinished puzzles waiting for the lovely seniors’ hands to complete them - masterpieces in need of a little help to reflect their beauty. A beautiful reminder of our lives where only the merciful hands and the relentless love of our creator can make us whole.

Many pieces, stories, choices, roads, dreams, hurts in need of his hands to make sense of all. 

This year has been rough for me and probably for some of you too. Some pieces we wouldn’t want to be part of our story are there. Broken dreams, sadness, rejection, shame, health issues, disappointments, financial setbacks, uncertainties and difficult journeys. 

And right there, friends, when our life parable is unfolding, we need to remember to look at him, dive into his word, our living water, and let his gentle spirit mend our broken hearts. 

“And the LORD said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward!’” - Exodus 14:15

No matter what you’re feeling this season, we can always find rest and reassurance in the gift of Immanuel, “God with us.” We are his living parables, his masterpieces. Life is not about us. He created all of us with a divine purpose and talents to share with others. 

With Jesus, our most profound hurt can become our testimony. Today I want to encourage you to leave all your broken pieces in his loving hands and move forward, actively waiting for your miracle; or even better, be a miracle serving someone else. Maybe he will surprise you and give you a glimpse of heaven as a new job, as he did with me here at Buckner – Parkway Place. 

Let’s keep moving forward, boldly and courageously, asking God as Nehemiah did, to strengthen our hands. He will shine through our broken pieces for our good and his glory.

Mientras camino por los pasillos de mi trabajo, Parkway Place, veo al pasar algunas mesas en las esquinas con rompecabezas inconclusos esperando ser terminados por las amorosas manos de las personas mayores que viven aqui, obras maestras necesitando solo un poco de ayuda para reflejar su belleza. Hermosas remembranzas de nuestras vidas que para ser completas, solo necesitan las manos misericordiosas y, el persistente amor de nuestro creador para ser completas.  

Muchas piezas, muchas historias, muchas decisions, muchos caminos, muchos sueños, muchas heridas necesitando sus manos para darle sentido a todo. 

Este año ha sido dificil para mi y, probablemente, para algunos de ustedes. Algunas piezas que no quisieramos que fueran parte de nuestra historia estuvieron ahi. Sueños rotos, tristeza, rechazo, verguenza, enfermedades, decepciones, contratiempos financieros, incertidumbre, y experiencias dificiles donde todo a nuestro alrededor se hundio en caos. 

Y es ahi mismo, amigos, donde la parabola de nuestras vidas va desarrollandose, en donde necesitamos recordar el mirarlo a El, entar en su palabra, nuestra agua viva, y dejar que su Espiritu gentil remiende nuestros corazones rotos.   

“Luego el SEÑOR le dijo a Moisés: ‘¿Por qué me pides ayuda? ¡Ordena al pueblo que sigan adelante!’”   Exodo 14:15

Sin importar como se sienten en esta temporada, siempre podremos encontrar descanso y seguridad en el regalo de Emmanuel “Dios con nosotros” y, El nos esta pidiendo que sigamos adelante. Somos sus Parabolas Vivientes, sus obras maestras. Nuestra vida no se trata de nosotros. El nos creo a todos con un proposito divino y talentos para compartir con los demas. 

Con Jesus, nuestro mas profundo dolor se puedes convertir en nuestro mayor testimonio de su misericordia y gracia. Hoy quiero animarlos, amados, a ponernos en marcha sirviendo a otros,  dejando todas las piezas rotas de nuestras vidas en sus amorosas manos, esperando activamente por nuestro milagro. Pidamosle a nuestro Padre celestial por su guia, tal vez El los va a sorprender, dandoles un vistazo del cielo como nuevo trabajo, como lo hizo conmigo, aqui en Buckner – Parkway Place.

Sigamos adelante, audaz y valientemente pidiendo a Dios que nos fortalezca, como lo hizo Nehemias. El brillara a traves de nuestras piezas rotas para nuestro bien y Su Gloria.
