MIDLAND: Buckner, Crestview Baptist give school supplies to 100 children at innagural back to school bash

MIDLAND, TX (Local Big 2 News) -- Buckner Children and Family Services held a Back to School Bash on Saturday at Crestview Baptist Church to celebrate the upcoming school year and distribute school supplies to the more than 100 vulnerable children served locally through Buckner foster care and Family Place ministries.

Children and their families came out to enjoy the day, complete with outdoor games, face paint and a bounce house. Each child in attendance received a new pair of shoes, a backpack filled with school supplies and a new school uniform. Volunteers from Crestview Baptist Church helped run the event as part of their #bethechurch initiative.

Buckner Gift Officer Myndi Easter said she loves putting a smile on these kids' faces, and their parents too.

"These kids, they just need some love and these families just need a little extra help, and that's what we're here for," said Easter.
