MLB community relations and foundation teams pack shoes to give to vulnerable children

Yesterday, representatives from every major league baseball community relations and foundation teams gathered at the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy at Mercy Street Sports Complex presented by Toyota to tour the facility, learn more about the Buckner Family Hope Center that operates there and pack 900 pairs of shoes for vulnerable children locally and internationally.

Approximately 70 representatives sorted and packed shoes that will be shipped and distributed to vulnerable children by Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls®. They also wrote encouraging notes for the children who will receive the shoes.

"We are so grateful to MLB for taking the time to learn more about the Buckner Family Hope Center and participate in preparing shoes to give to children in need," said Gabriel Flores, manager of the Family Hope Center in West Dallas that operates at the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy. "We had so much fun working alongside them and are grateful for their collaboration in Buckner programs."

The MLB Foundation also presented a $1,000 check to support the Family Hope Center.
