HOUSTON-- The Houston community and surrounding areas are filled with needs, needs that feel especially great during the holidays.

This week, Parkway Place and Buckner Hospice leadership joined the Buckner Family Hope Center in Aldine to meet some of those most basic needs. Senior staff joined the Family Hope Center team to serve a full Thanksgiving dinner to senior adults living in the Aldine community. This is the first year staff from the senior living community and hospice services have partnered with Family Hope Center staff, but Sunny Chatagnier, Parkway Place executive director, knows it won't be the last.

"As Buckner employees, we truly embody the Buckner spirit in being Christ like, servant minded and passion driven," Chatagnier said. "The leadership teams of Buckner Hospice Houston, Parkway Place, Houston BCFS and Houston Foundation have made a strategic decision to partner with one another so we can better serve all those touched by a Buckner ministry." 

Chatagnier also hopes to get staff from the senior living community involved with the Family Hope Center through volunteer opportunities at afternoon  programs, teaching classes on public speaking and leading workshops on leadership skills.

"Together we know we can continue to transform the lives of Houston  seniors, children and families  by shining hope throughout the greater Houston area. This year serving at Aldine Family Hope Center was an amazing honor and we look forward to continuing the tradition in the years to come."
