Teens in Houston go on summer adventure

Kids in the summer enrichment program learn about farming at Atkinson Farms

Summer is the time for adventure and fun. Children participating in the Teen Enrichment Summer Program at the Buckner Family Hope Center at Aldine went on their own adventure to Spring, Texas, to visit Atkinson Farms

Atkinson Farms provides locally grown produce and beef to nearby residents. The kids learned the total process of farm growing, all the way from seedlings to harvesting.

Afterwards, the group visited a large flower patch on the farm where they were able to pick bouquets of flowers to give to their families and friends.

The day was perfect for an outdoor adventure and after enjoying lunch on the grounds, the teens took turns going down the large, textured slide that produced a healthy amount of laughs and giggles.
