Parents receive safe, affordable housing and child care while pursuing their educational or vocational goals while experiencing healing and empowerment for themselves and their children.
Life as a single parent introduces additional challenges like earning enough to not only care and provide for their children, but also simultaneously attempting to improve their circumstances. When they're facing life without an education, it's even harder. The Family Pathways program opens doors of hope to break generational cycles of poverty.
Texas Mutual’s generational learning grants are given to organizations in Texas, such as Family Pathways, and were selected based on demonstration of the following:
- Improving the health and wellness of Texas workers and their families by providing access to quality health care and health education
- Strengthening the early childhood education system by ensuring child care providers have the resources needed to deliver access to affordable, quality education for Texas families
- Providing holistic wrap-around support for clients, in addition to case management to ensure families have the resources they need to seize opportunities
The generational learning grants have been awarded to more than 50 Texas organizations across 35 cities and are the first phase of a two-part initiative to invest in programs for communities, businesses and working families.
