Today, approximately 200 children and families traveled through the parking lot outside the Rangers MLB Youth Academy, where the Buckner Family Hope Center is located, to still experience Easter joy despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The socially distanced drive-thru offered Easter baskets full of candy and gifts for both the parents and the children. Each child received an extra toy, 25 candy-filled eggs and had the chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

Nonprofit Mercy Street provided the baskets, which Buckner volunteers helped fill with candy on Wednesday in preparation. Mercy Street also provided boxed meals for the families to enjoy.

All attending families were pre-registered to continue adhering to CDC guidelines.

Many Buckner programs across Texas hosted similar drive-thru events to celebrate Easter with clients and families.
