More and more, businesses are seeing the value in incorporating giving and volunteer opportunities into their employee programs. There are so many unique ways to align with a nonprofit that fits their corporate culture and passions and in January we’re highlighting a few of the companies that collaborate with Buckner in different, yet amazing ways to impact positive change in our communities. 

Wells Fargo is a well-known bank, and Buckner is lucky to have a strong relationship with the locations in the Rio Grande Valley. Since 2013, Wells Fargo employees have embarked on volunteer opportunities of all types.

Building homes for local families. Over the years, Wells Fargo has helped build five different homes for the families Buckner serves through the Buckner Family Hope Center. Throughout the year, employees chose to participate in many different projects to finish homes.

Gifts. Over three years, Wells Fargo made annual donations of $15,000, and in the last two, upped their contributions to $20,000 per year. With their financial background, they strongly believe in empowering families. They put that belief to work by contributing to our economic strengthening program.

Days of service. Employees had the opportunity to jump into multiple days of service – finishing up homes for families and celebrating their Day of Caring by sending 60 volunteers to help at another home. 

Furthering education for our Family Hope Center families. Wells Fargo employees are impacting Buckner families by teaching classes on finance and strengthening their knowledge to improve their futures.

From the manager to the daily employees, the community surrounding Wells Fargo is important to them. Because of their passion for the Peñitas area, each level of staff and leadership loves to be involved with Buckner and impacting the families in the community.
