When I think of standing firm, I think about refusing to change a decision or position. I think about the military meaning of standing one’s ground, holding your position, being steadfast; standing up to offer resistance to someone or a position. 
 
I was thinking how important it is to stand for the truth and not compromise. As Christians, we will be challenged at some point in our faith. Standing firm is not always easy, especially in times like these. 
  
To obey God, we must stand firm in this hour. A coworker once told me that obedience means to do it immediately, completely and with joy. Those words have stuck with me. This may put us in the minority with the world’s perspective; however, we will be aligned with Christ. 
 
Let me share some tips for standing firm in Christ when our faith is challenged:

• We must know what we are standing for and whom we are standing for.
• His word is a firm place to stand, he does not change (Hebrews 13:8).
• We must cast down some thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5).

God has given us spiritual armor to help us to stand firm. It’s important for us to remember he is not going to ask us to do something and not equip us to do it. Our job is to put on the spiritual armor (all forward facing armor) and use it how God said to help us to stand firm. 
 
We cannot afford to forget to suit up every day. Afterward, take your stand. Remember we are of those that stand, decree and declare the word of God and go forward in Christ (Ephesians 6:13).
 
If we are going to stand firm in times like these, we must know what we believe, who we believe and why, so when the challenges come, we can stand firm.
 
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5
