The Nursing Facility Administrators Advisory Committee provides helpful recommendations to the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. Recently, Governor Greg Abbott named three professionals to the committee including Abraham Mathew, senior executive director of Buckner Retirement Services in Houston. This is a reappointment for Mathew and is set to expire February 2027.

“We are very excited for Dr. Mathew’s reappointment to this important committee,” shared Brian Robbins, vice president and COO of Buckner Retirement Services. “He has a deep passion for serving seniors and making sure our industry is well-represented with equally passionate leaders.”

The advisory committee supports the department with licensure sanctions and updated rules in line with the Texas Health and Safety Code. The code seeks to help health facilities provide the highest possible quality of care including standards such as quality of life, access and continuity of care, safety, professionalism and more.

“Mathew’s dedication to this industry and seniors alike makes him the perfect person to serve on such a committee,” Robbins continued.

Buckner Retirement Services continues to seek new ways to inspire happiness at the six senior living communities across Texas and this is another way that Mathew can help inspire positive influence across the retirement arena.
