Young women in Buckner’s teen and Buckner Family Pathways programs recently attended a live production of the Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker. The outing was an all-women event, including female staff from Buckner.

In addition to providing an opportunity to experience the Houston arts scene, the outing allowed the young women the chance to learn and practice theater etiquette.

The excursion was a special experience for the young ladies as they were able to have a spa-like experience getting ready for the night out.

Several members of Delta Sigma Theta sorority purchased and donated dresses for the young women to wear and Tatiana London from Tatis Angel Faces provided their makeup. And dinner was provided by Buckner.

“As staff praised them with compliments, you could see their confidence build,” said Dior Burns Eagan, executive director of Buckner in Houston. “This experience will surely last them a lifetime as they had a fantastic time with lots of memories.”

See how Buckner Family Pathways is helping young single parents grow in confidence, achieve their career goals and provide for their families.
