Amarillo: Bakers whip up sweet treats for Buckner Family Place

AMARILLO, Texas - Retired bakers prove that it doesn't take an industrial sized kitchen and a Food Network budget to add a little sweetness to the lives of vulnerable families.

For sisters, Peggy Burke and Derenda Bishop all they needed was a garage.

While they have since moved their baking indoors, the talented sisters have whipped up sweet treats for the family place at least once a month since they began in 2013.

The Family Place assists single parent families pursuing their education.
