Programs
Buckner Family Place
Buckner Family Place in Houston provides single parent families the opportunity to live in a safe secure environment while completing their educational or vocational goals and learning the necessary skills needed to become self-sufficient. Families are provided support through the provision of affordable housing, financial assistance, and case management services which include referrals to parenting education, budget training, life skills and individual and group counseling. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older and be currently enrolled in an educational or vocational program. The program will be located in the Fannin Street Station apartment complex at Texas Medical Center, 8181 Fannin Street, Houston, Texas, 77054.
The Church at Bethel's Family Church Collaboration
Buckner began working with The Church at Bethel's Family in Houston in September 2010. A Buckner staff member there works with several of the church's nonprofits, including Bethel's Place—a community empowerment center that provides education and job search assistance. Through the collaboration, the church also operates a food and clothing pantry called Bethel's Heavenly Hands. For more information, contact Dianne Jones at djones@buckner.org.
