Buckner Southeast Texas Receives Record-Breaking $318,000 from Annual Chevron Phillips Charity Golf Tournament
The 28th annual Chevron Phillips Chemical Charity Golf Tournament raised a record-breaking $318,000 for Servicios para Niños y Familias Buckner in Southeast Texas, marking another successful year for the event. A ceremonial check was presented to Buckner representatives on Oct. 8, with proceeds benefiting vulnerable children; young adults and families served through Buckner’s local programs.
“We are thankful for the continued support of our Chevron Phillips Chemical family and to all who participated in the golf tournament,” said Laura May, executive director for Buckner Children and Family Services in Southeast Texas. “Chevron Phillips Chemical has invested in our work to support local children and families for nearly three decades.
Held Sept. 25 at Bayou Din Golf Club in Beaumont, the tournament brought together 288 golfers, 292 sponsors and volunteers, and 26 Pit Stops, demonstrating the extraordinary generosity and commitment of the Southeast Texas community. The tournament’s Pit Stop Challenge also recognized outstanding Pit Stop participants for their creativity, hospitality and fundraising efforts.
“We are proud to collaborate with Buckner to support the children and families of our community. We appreciate the tremendous support from our industry partners in Southeast Texas,” said Carrie Phillips, CPChem’s Southeast Texas Chemical Complex (STCC) Plant Manager. “We are excited to continue our collaboration with Buckner and our community in sponsoring this event. Employees from our sites work hard to make this one of the premier golf events in our area.”
Since it began in 1999, the Chevron Phillips Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $5 million to support Buckner’s mission of protecting vulnerable children, strengthening families and transforming generations throughout Southeast Texas. These funds help sustain local programs that provide safe homes for children in foster care, support families facing difficult circumstances, and equip young adults aging out of foster care with the resources needed to build successful, independent lives.
