Chatagnier named new executive director of Buckner Parkway Place
HOUSTON – Buckner Retirement Services named Sunny Chatagnier as executive director of Buckner Parkway Place Aug. 3.
Chatagnier has served Parkway Place since 2008, first as director of social services and most recently as assistant executive director. She also has been the assistant administrator as well as administrator at Parkway Place.
“Sunny is an outstanding, compassionate leader,” said Charlie Wilson, senior vice president of Buckner Retirement Services. “She cares deeply about the residents and employees at Parkway Place. Both are in good hands under her leadership.”
Parkway Place is located on a 15-acre campus, and only one of the few independent living communities in West Houston that has no entrance fees, no long-term contracts and provides spacious apartments on a rental basis.
As a continuing care community, Parkway Place offers independent living apartment residences, assisted living, memory care and long-term nursing services. The new wellness center features state-of-the-art equipment and a Be Well Program to enhance the spiritual, social and intellectual dimensions of wellness.
Chatagnier earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Houston. She is a fellow in the 2015 LeadingAge Leadership Academy, a year-long leadership development program designed to enhance the leadership skills and core competencies of non-profit leaders within the Leading Age membership of retirement community professionals.
Chatagnier thanked Buckner leadership, including CEO/President Albert Reyes, and the Parkway Place community for entrusting her to serve senior adults. She looks forward to continuing to invest in the lives of the staff and residents at Parkway Place.
“I'm so grateful to Dr. Reyes and the BRS team for promoting me into the executive director position. I look forward to serving residents and staff at Parkway Place in my new role. Buckner has supported me throughout my career at Parkway Place and I'm so blessed to be part of such a wonderful organization.”
