God was intentional with his design of families

Children are supposed to have parents help them learn things not always taught at school, like tying shoestrings, riding a bicycle, opening a bank account, flossing teeth while wearing braces, or pinning on a corsage for a school dance.

There are countless things children learn on the path to young adulthood, but if a child in foster care or waiting to be adopted ages out of the system, who teaches them critical lessons to live independently?

What message does society send children who go out into the world on their own with no resources or support?

Fostering Youth Independence (FYi)

We always need families open to fostering or adopting older children. While we pray for those families’ hearts to open, we offer our FYi program to help children at risk of aging out.
