Fostering Youth Independence (FYi)
A program for youth and young adults, ages 16 to 25, who have been in state foster care at some point in their life. This program helps equip teens and young adults with skills in preparation for entering young adulthood and independent responsibilities.
It is our goal that all program participants leave better equipped for their future and with renewed hope
FYi centers are located in Amarillo, Beaumont, Lubbock, and Lufkin.
Financial assistance is available to FYi program participants based on demonstrated need and fund availability. Assistance can include help with transportation, basic needs, work-related expenses (uniforms or certifications), and educational assistance for textbooks and supplies.
FYi centers do not provide housing options, but program staff can assist with finding and maintaining safe, stable housing. Financial assistance can be provided to program participants.
