Community is a gift
Human beings were not created to live life solo. In the beginning, God observed that “It is not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). It’s no different today.
Life can get hard. Whether it’s our families, jobs, finances, marriages, friends, or church, there will be times that we all just need someone to be there with us. Someone to carry the burden along with us. Someone to remind us of His presence and love.
God put those people in our lives for such a time as this. It is during these moments of struggle that we can be the arms and feet of Jesus to one another. Whether it’s through encouragement, prayer or just showing up and being present, our relationships with one another can carry us through life’s storms.
“The one who is alone will soon come to grief, but two can put up with it. A threefold cord cannot be quickly broken.” -Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
We get knocked down, but together we can get back up.
None of us must pretend to have it all together to be better together. In fact, we never could. We can simply commit to walking in community with one another, lifting each other up and giving grace along the way just as Christ has done with us.
This week, make it a point to reach out to someone. It could be a text message, a prayer or a phone call. Take just one step toward someone in your life and see what God will do.
