Halliburton employees pitch in to send Buckner children back to school in style
Over 50 Halliburton employees, from the supply-chain team to the legal department, quickly and neatly stuffed 300 green and blue backpacks in a gymnasium at the corporate headquarters Wednesday.
“It’s fun. When you see a Halliburton team like this come together, they knock things out pretty quickly and get things accomplished,” Halliburton human resources manager and volunteer Haley Armand said.
A total of 740 backpacks will be sent to 575 elementary and 165 middle and high school students from the Aldine Independent School District, the Houston Independent School District, the KIPP and public charter schools. The average price of each backpack and its contents is $17.04, purchased by the faith-based Buckner International through funds from Halliburton. Read more in the Houston Chronicle ...
