To usher in the spring and summer, 200 families and children attended the Spring Luau at the Buckner Family Hope Center® at Midland. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the available resources at the Family Hope Center, as well as through other Buckner programs such as Buckner Family Pathways® and foster care and adoption.
Community members First Convenience Bank, Rays of Hope, MISD Support Center, the Rockhounds, Texas Tech Physicians, Roadhouse, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Kona Ice and the Midland County Sheriff's Department also offered available resources and fun to families in attendance.
Children played games like limbo and hula-hooping - and had so much fun they got their parents to play too!
"Events like these are important because our families get to see all the love and support that surrounds them," shared Emily Pinedo, Buckner volunteer engagement coordinator for West Texas region. "It's a great opportunity to showcase all the resources that are available. Our hope is that families leave feeling loved and encouraged. It's always a pleasure to serve them at events like these and watch them enjoy their time!"
