A few weeks ago, while sitting at a nice dinner overlooking the gorgeous Rocky Mountains in Estes Park, Colorado, my husband asked the question: “What if we sold everything and traveled the country in an RV?”

And for the next 45 minutes, we laughed and joked about living life free to roam and traveling to see all the great places our country has to offer. As we ended the conversation, we said, “What about this challenge would be hard though?”

We talked about how it would be really hard not to see family; kids have already made friends and love their schools ... the list went on until we decided – there's no way. This wasn’t an option for us! Not now! Too many challenges or obstacles to overcome when to be honest, it’s all about fear. Jumping off to do something that’s different. Leaving family and friends in one spot as you travel creates a little fear of missing out on something!

“They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to take care of them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.” – Psalm 112:7-8

This Psalm encourages us to put our trust in the Lord to care for us with confidence and without fear. I like to consider myself someone who loves adventure and appreciates a few surprises along the way. I long to trust the Father in the daily tasks of life, but I also know he longs to take me on adventures that help me to know him and his character more!

Our family may not be selling it all to travel across the United States in an RV, but we will trust the Lord holds us confidently through our daily fears. May we all learn to know him more – both on our trips around the country and in the small pockets of regular day-to-day life.

Thankful our Father is good.
