Beaumont foster care program receives generous grant for respite services

BEAUMONT, Texas – Buckner Children and Family Services received a $5,000 grant from the Foundation for Southeast Texas to be used for foster care services.
The grant will be used for respite services, which provides extra caregivers when foster parents need a few hours away to renew their strength and prevent burnout.
“It’s not unusual for our families to experience times of unexpected stress due to family needs and behavioral issues,” said Buckner Southeast Texas development officer Rhonda Robicheau. “Many of our families provide care for children with mental health issues. The generous gifts from the Foundation for Southeast Texas will allow foster parents to renew their strength and prevent burnout.”
Fostering a child can be a challenge, but these caregivers do it because they want to improve lives. This $5,000 grant provides support for those families, and is a valuable resource for them to find new strength and provision.
