DALLAS – Buckner Foundation honored the Preston Hollow Women's Club as their Volunteer Philanthropists of the Year at the National Philanthropy Day 27th Annual Awards Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency in November.

Buckner has been the charity of choice for PHWC since 2011. A few of their volunteer activities include purchasing birthday gifts for the Dallas-area children in foster care and the children in the Family Pathways program; hosting high school graduation parties for the foster care teens and college graduation parties for the Family Pathways mothers; and purchasing housewarming gifts for the new families moving into Family Pathways apartments.

PHWC has also raised more than $120,000 over the past eight years to support Buckner programs in North Texas including “camper scholarships” for foster care families to participate in a Buckner summer camp each year.

“This is an energetic and committed group of women who have supported our foster care and Family Pathways program through their prayers, their generosity and their volunteer leadership support,” said Jerilynn Armstrong, director of corporate and foundation relations for Buckner Foundation. “We are blessed to serve with a group who identifies with the heart of the Buckner mission to strengthen and support families.”
