Houston programs kicking off the new school season with fun
Across Houston, families and children had the chance to celebrate the beginning of a new school year with Buckner programs.
At the Buckner Family Hope Center™ at Reed Road, 280 people from the Buckner Family Pathways™ community and surrounding area enjoyed a full day of festivities. From free haircuts, new shoes, school supplies and backpacks, to uniforms, food and fun, attendees were able to head back to school in style.
Vendors such as Houston Independent School District, Youth Advocates, Trio, Harris County Public Library, Books Between Friends and others took time to pour encouragement and fun into families at the event. Thank you to volunteers from Tomorrow’s Energy and sponsors Clothed by Faith, Reliant Energy, Texas Party Box and Halliburton!
The Family Hope Center at Aldine didn’t hesitate to celebrate the new season with their families either. Over 300 people received shoes, socks, backpacks, food and immunizations at the back-to-school bash. Thank you to the sponsors for Aldine’s event: Champion X, Halliburton and Sister to Sister Gathering.
Throughout Houston, with the help of volunteers and generous friends of Buckner, children and families are headed into a new school year set up for success.
