Ventana by Buckner names contractor for $120 million construction project
Buckner Senior Living has selected a contractor to build Ventana by Buckner, a $120 million high-rise senior living community located at the intersection of Central Expressway and Northwest Highway in Dallas.
Whiting-Turner, a national construction firm with offices in the Dallas area, will serve as the lead contractor for the project. Established in 1909, Whiting-Turner is one of the nation’s largest builders of senior living communities, along with serving a diverse group of customers that includes higher education, retailers, and healthcare.
“Whiting-Turner brings a tremendous level of knowledge and experience to our project,” said Albert Reyes, president and CEO of Buckner International. “We’re confident they will deliver a community that meets the expectations of Buckner and our future residents.”
Officials with Buckner Senior Living expect to break ground on the new community in April. The project, designed by Dallas-based D2 Architecture, includes two 12-story towers overlooking downtown Dallas and the Park Cities community.
“We’re extremely pleased with the response from the community,” said Charlie Wilson, senior vice president for Buckner Retirement Services. “There is a real excitement about Ventana from our future residents and we are almost at our goal for deposits.”
A fully-staffed Information Center, featuring a 3-D model of the buildings, video virtual tour, full renderings, and site and floor plans is open in One Lincoln Park Building, overlooking the 3-acre property where Ventana will be built. The Information Center is in Suite 725 at 8401 North Central Expressway. The phone number is 214-234-1035.
Ventana will join five other senior living communities operated by Buckner Retirement Services in Texas. Buckner is the second largest provider of non-profit senior living in the state and the 52nd largest nationally. Visit www.ventanabybuckner.com for more details.
