Worship in your daily routine
Everyone has a daily routine we fall into whether intentionally set, or we fall into one without really noticing. Wake up, work, eat, decompress, sleep – and the cycle repeats. Where are we fitting in our worship? And why is the praising of our Creator always seem to barely squeeze into our calendar?
A relationship doesn't grow when cast aside or penciled in to be erased by a Netflix binge. Relationships are fostered through communication, intentional time and active presence. We serve an omnipresent God who intimately knows each of us and wants us to intimately know him.
For many, setting aside time during an already busy and early morning is not feasible, and we don’t all have a commute to work anymore to listen to worship music, a sermon or a podcast. But what do you prioritize when you take a break from your computer or your other daily tasks?
Singing along to your favorite worship song or reading a piece of truth in Scripture will bring you closer to Jesus and recenter your mind as you approach the next to-do at hand. When we do all things with Christ at the center and learn to praise him through our work and busy days, we can relinquish the stress that weighs us down.
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our 'God is a consuming fire.'” – Hebrews 12:28-29
Scripture tells us to worship with awe of our Savior and let him consume us as a fire consumes all things in its path. Sunday morning worship is a great way to begin a week, but how are you carrying your adoration for Jesus into the days that follow?
