City Credit Union makes the holiday bright by donating more than 350 toys
Christmas is just days away and as the anticipation builds for the holiday, City Credit Union is doing their part to make sure vulnerable families in Dallas have a memorable Christmas day. City Credit Union donated more than 350 toys as a result of its toy drive and delivered them to the Buckner Center for Humanitarian Aid for distribution to families in need.
The City Credit Union Culture Committee were overjoyed to hand deliver one toy right away to 2-year-old Jeremiah as they unloaded their toy donation at the Center for Humanitarian Aid.
“We are extremely thankful for City Credit Union’s support over the years, from collecting and donating new shoes and school supplies to its Buckner toy drives,” said Buckner CEO and President Albert Reyes. “Cities are only as great as the people, organizations and companies they are comprised of, and City Credit Union’s work in the community is a shining example of corporate social responsibility and a big part of what makes Dallas such a phenomenal place.”
The toy drive comes on the heels of City Credit Union becoming the 2019 title sponsor of Buckner’s Sporting Clay Challenge. As part of City Credit Union’s dedication to serve the greater community, they’re promoting local charitable organizations through their Random Acts of Kindness initiative. The initiative was developed to inspire members, employees and communities in North Texas to give back. Since beginning the partnership, City Credit Union has contributed to Buckner financially as well as sponsored volunteer activities such as school supply drives and collecting shoes for Buckner’s Shoes for Orphans Souls®. With this toy donation, City Credit Union helps spread the spirit of giving and ensure children in need across North Texas experience the joy of receiving a gift.
“This time of year brings out the best in all of us and shows how simple acts of kindness can make a difference,” said Sharon Moore, president and CEO of City Credit Union. “Through our partnership with Buckner, we’ve seen firsthand the generosity of our members and people throughout North Texas. Something as simple as a toy drive can bring people together and change lives. We hope to inspire others to get involved and spread the joy and magic experienced during this time of year.”
