Sanchez seeks to engage Houston
MariaLuisa Sanchez, Buckner’s new ministry engagement coordinator for the Houston area, has an open-mind policy when it comes to engaging volunteers at the Buckner Family Hope Center at Aldine and the soon-to-open Buckner Family Hope Center of Houston.
“Whether you’re looking to give back and make a difference in your community, gain new skills, knowledge and experience, or meet new people, we are sure to have a volunteer opportunity that is right for you,” she says, offering a wealth of options. “You can join us in our after-school kids program or Empower to Employ teen program, assist us with sorting in our food/clothing pantry, provide mentorship in our Jobs For Life adult job training program, or be a part of our annual events such as our back-to-school backpack giveaway and much more.”
Sanchez, who comes to the engagement position following six years in the social work field, said she’s developed “a true passion for helping the most vulnerable families transform their lives. I am excited to continue serving through Buckner International by engaging and mobilizing individuals, groups and organizations who are acting on their call to serve.”
