Weekly volunteers experience life enrichment

Not only does this group serve Buckner Shoes together, they grow together

There are volunteers and then there are “the coaches.”

That’s the name lovingly bestowed on the weekly Wednesday morning group of volunteers for Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® at the Buckner Center for Humanitarian Aid in Dallas.

After years of shoe processing, these volunteers now instruct others. Seven or eight of them gather at 9:30 a.m. most Wednesdays and as many as 14 can be counted among the “founding circle.”

The volunteers’ gatherings are equally about processing shoes and processing life’s ups and downs. They care about and for each other, celebrating the highlights and supporting the discouragements.

Meet this group in the latest issue of Buckner Today.
